Cwmcarn, Y Mynydd Mojo, downhill mountain bike trail. The track has easy access from the motorway & is only 50 min from Bristol, so you get a full days ride! As you enter the site the main track is at the bottom of the car park on the right with a view of 4x finish to the downhill. For 12 pounds you can uplift all day 11-4. After a uplift looking out at the massive scenery, you push or RIDE the last 100m to the start, Here is your 1st choice to make the nps race line or the Freeride start. For a warm up & much fun the Freeride line is the one, starting by flying down a 15ft slope into 1st tabletop, slight bend, second table & then 3rd table with long landing straight into big berm to catch you. The next part runs down along the side of the mountain with various doubles, drops, banked berms & turns until you get to a section locally called the quarry.
Things are fun here as you know the top boys jump a gap at 30ft but mere mortals drop down between it with various lines to be taken all with a lovely G-out straight into a smaller drop to off camber root or around tree into same section, this links to the first of the tight switch-backs, 1, 2, 3,4 & under the road down into big ass berm. Then some tech left & rights, down 3 steps, berm then a little hipped step down into another big berm that leads onto a big tabletop (awesome) Land then small double that can be jumped or rode, into a few more turns then down onto the slab drops, nice section. A few more tight turns into the rollercoaster bit ( up , down , right, left) . across the road , hold your breath & drop in to off camber slope into flat turn right which leads straight into a double , which given its position is big as there is another flat turn off camber left. This done & the fun begins, you have a small double that lands in a right hand berm which feeds a step down section. A big & small ramp are there and a chicken run as well, the landing is sweet big & steep 100mph straight into a big, big left hand berm (truly massive). Away from there over a smallish step down where the track goes dual, to the left on the pedals & another big table which delivers you to the take off for the big right hand hip. The right hand line is not so well used has a couple of jumps 1st small then a bigish double that seems hard to gauge. Both of these lines then cross a bridge with a drop off the other side, again big landing area, speed bump into another big berm, commit from here & you have fast, big & well trick able double to finish. There is also a whoop into small Rollin double to finish to the right. This track is a favourite amongst the BF boys as it is big & has every thing you want, racing, Freeride & of course UPLIFT!
