MOUNTAIN ASH

Mountain ash is a long and friendly course having said that make sure you give it some respect or as with many of the dragon tracks you will find out the hard way how dangerous this sport is.

From the starting point half way up a slope you descend down a series of steps into the first right hand turn along the straight over the small jump or if its still there the bigger option to the left ,the track bends to the right off you go this section is a fast single track which has some very nice bus stops along the way ,you come out of the last bus stop and drop down into the darkness by way of the drop off onto some roots or the race line around it .this little short section is bumpy and rutty so pick the right line ,until you see it the slab 7-8 foot nice if its wet well your choice you can chicken out and sometimes this is the best way the bottom of the slab is unforgiving ,your safe good carry on and have a seat for a little peddle along a forest track though the bus stop and out the other side around the right hander which has a lovely rut which you have to ride high away along the straight you can see the trees but take care small drop off ahead slow and off the brakes hit the rut and get support .

Follow the rut down through the trees and off the next drop into a left and across the road ,over half way but this is were you need to dig deep you got to peddle through the rest of the course off the road small jump to the next off that and onwards running along side the road be careful as you have a small climb hit the rock to get the lift up over a nasty little bit this can kill speed or stop you dead if done well you will keep on the move ,keep up the speed and lean back over the roots passed the outlet through the s watch it the track is narrow and the crash option could end your day ,this next section is sweet down the slope across the stream and again into the darkness go left of a couple of step down or right along the rut on through the wine ding track trees on both sides closing in of to close step-downs and out into the light across the fire track into another tight section of turn back across the track again dropping down into  another bumpy section till you hit a drop-off which you can ride or jump off straight as you land turn to the left into the open area where tress have been cut down this small section can be hit a lot harder now continue down left at the bottom along the track and your finished and believe me you will be tired .

I would say the track is long about 5 min for the average rider no major scares on this one great track for beginners as it flows and fills really good when you get to the bottom big smile and your bike should still be in one piece.
